On 1 June, whilst on foot patrol

Safer Neighbourhood Officers conducted two stop‑and‑searches in the area surrounding Newton Farm Skate Park on 1 June as part of ongoing proactive patrol activity aimed at reducing crime and safeguarding the community.

One individual was diverted into appropriate support services following engagement with officers. A second individual was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. This individual has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team remains committed to tackling drug‑related activity, supporting vulnerable individuals, and maintaining a safe environment for residents and visitors to any part of the Southside area.
